update while I can

Ok, here goes…

I am doing a quick blog update while both boys are sleeping (or supposed to be!).  We are doing great here at the Svir house.  Our newest addition, Beckett, arrived about 2 1/2 weeks early, which I am very happy about.  Beckett was a good size and healthy, so it was all good!

Mike is back at work.  It is hard for Axton to have dad gone all day, but he really looks forward to Mike coming home!!  I am planning to be home for about another month.  I love being home with the boys–we have such a laid back routine.  I have not uploaded any pics, so look at Helene’s blog for a pic of Beckett.

Happy Fall!!!

Yeah, we are due in less than 6 weeks with the Svir Baby!  As many of you know, I should not get my hopes up, and it could be closer to 8 weeks, until we meet the little man.

All is well here.  Mike is enjoying his summer, and Axton loves having dad around.  We had fun at a wedding last weekend, and look foward to a packed summer.

Wow, Axton is already two years old.  Everyone says time goes fast, but you don’t know until you have your own children.  We had a “well child” check up, and everything looks good, however tonight he is getting sick–go figure!

We are planning a little party for Axton, and hope it goes well.

Yes, this is a long overdue post.

Axton got his first pet(s).  We got him four goldfish.  He seems to love them.  He always says hi in the morning, and checks on them at lunch, and says goodnight to them.  He enjoys watching them and will tell you all about them if you call.

I have taken on a ne challenge at work, which is going fine.  It is hard to get into something new, just when I am getting really comfortable.

All is well here at the Svir house, and Axton’s going to be a big brother in August!!!

2009 is here!

We had a good Christmas at my parents.  All of us kids and grandkids were there.  It was really fun, but now makes for a full house.  It was the first time all of us had been home at Christmas in a while.  The little kids had fun and I think grandpa and grandma really enjoyed watching and playing along.

This is one of my favorite pics from the holiday–my parents with a couple grandkids.

I worked last evening, but got home just in time to see the ball drop and kiss my husband!!  Happy 2009!!

We look forward to doing the Svir Christmas now in Jan–stay tuned for updates!!

A night out

Mike and I have just enjoyed our 2nd night out, compliments to our sitters (thanks Helene!)  This past Sat were at a Christmas party for my work.  Helene babysat Axton, which meant he played with Atlie and Etta for a couple hours, then he got to come home, and go to sleep in his own bed.  Tonight, we went to a “Holiday” party with my coworkers.  We hired a babysitter on a school night.  She was great, and Axton loves her.  We had a good time tonight and had no intention of staying out until 9:30, but I do like the people I work with!  It was fun for my coworkers to meet my better half!

A lot of cookies

Axton and I just got home from the cookie exchange.  I have 3 ice cream pails full of cookies, and another 3 dozen on the counter.  It was a really fun get together with a bunch of girls and a few kids.  However, I will need to get rid of some cookies (Helene-I want to send some north with you for the holidays).  It is really fun to see how a bunch of women who don’t have much in common can get together and have so much fun.   Thanks for inviting me Denise!! Tomorrow we are headed to a work Christmas party.  Should be fun.

Wow, I made it through Thanksgiving.  I made ham (no turkey here!), Cheezy potatoes, and green bean casserole.  My mom (aka grandma) brought buns, cranberries and pies!  Everything turned out great, the day was fun, and Axton was a champ.  Thanks to Mom, Dad, Gary and Kristina who drove up here for the day!!

On another note, I have been preparing for a cookie exchange (10 doz cookies), so I have been busy in the kichen again!!

shout out to uncle Jim

Hey thanks to those of you who check out our blogs.  It is fun to read comments, and get feedback.  I have to give a shout out to uncle Jim for reading my blog and leaving a comment!  Thanks Jim!!

I am getting my Thanksgiving dinner planned.  We’ll see how it turns out, as I am not a Betty Crocker!!

a thrill seeker…

So Axton took his first tumble down our carpeted stairs the other day.  I think I yelled a word as he hit every other step.  The stairs are carpet, and the landing was piled with laundry, as that is what we were in the middle of doing.  Axton fussed a bit when Mike picked him up, and then signed for “more”.  Does that make him a thrill seeker??  Thus, I hope he doesn’t TRY to fall down the stairs!

I did go deer hunting, but don’t really have a great story to tell.  We were out for a while on Sat, but didn’t get anything, and on Sunday, I stayed in bed, and they called me when they got a deer!  It was really fun to go out with the boys and I look forward to next year.

One more thing…Axton loves to talk on the phone.  He was talking to my dad, who has a snow removal business, and dad asked Axton to say snow–Axton replied with “snow” followed by his boistrous laugh!  It was really cute to hear them go back and forth.  It makes me realize how much Axton and his grandpa are alike!

I think I might be cooking on Thanksgiving…We’ll see!!
